❤️ Nature & Soul
Nova was independent, resourceful, and valued her privacy. She was calm when handled but clearly saw her cage as her private domain. She showed trust by coming down from her aerie to interact and by taking food gently. Her personality was self-sufficient and clever—a mouse who understood the advantage of the high ground and the importance of a secure, hidden home.
⭐ Special Memory
We built Nova a 'penthouse suite'—a small, enclosed platform at the very top of her cage, accessible only by a single, thin ladder. It was her dream home. She immediately claimed it, dragging all her nesting materials up the ladder (a feat in itself) and building her most elaborate nest yet inside. She would spend most of her time up there, peeking out from the entrance like a queen in her tower. She seemed immensely proud of her lofty domain.
🐾 Favorite Things
High platforms, single-entrance nests, climbing ladders, private spaces, guarding behavior, secluded sleeping

A tribute to a white mouse with black spots like a starry night, whose nests were always built in the highest, most secluded spot she could find.

Nova was a 'broken marked' mouse, white with random black spots. She had an affinity for height and secrecy. She would ignore ground-level hides in favor of climbing to the highest shelf or platform in her cage and building her nest there, using whatever materials she could drag up. Her nests were compact, hidden, and always had a single entrance she could guard. She was a private mouse, but would come down for treats and handling. Her cage felt like a tiny mountain, with her nest as the peak, and she its reclusive, starry queen.
