❤️ Nature & Soul
Inky was independent, intelligent, and observant. She was not a social butterfly but was calm when handled. She showed trust by going about her nightly business while we were in the room, unconcerned. Her personality was self-contained and mysterious—a private individual who lived a rich, internal life on her own schedule, allowing us glimpses into her world if we were quiet and respectful.
⭐ Special Memory
Using a red night-vision camera, we once recorded Inky's entire night. What we saw was astonishing. From 10 PM to 4 AM, she was almost constantly active. She completely rebuilt her nest, moving every piece of bedding to a new configuration. She solved three different puzzle feeders we had left as challenges. She ran on her wheel for exactly 27 minutes total, in three separate sessions. She took two short breaks to groom. It was a meticulously planned and executed night of work and play, all conducted in near-total silence.
🐾 Favorite Things
Red light observation, nighttime activity, nest rebuilding, puzzle feeder solving, silent movements, independent exploration
🌈 Pet Remembrance Anniversary Reminders
📅 Should we gently remind you by email before your pet’s passing anniversary? We know these dates can be tender. If you wish, we can send you a gentle email reminder before your pet’s passing anniversary.

A tribute to a black mouse whose nocturnal explorations were conducted with silent, shadowy purpose, a tiny secret agent in the night.

Inky was a shadow. A solid black fancy mouse, she was nearly invisible in the dim light of her nighttime activity. Her movements were silent and deliberate. She preferred the cover of darkness for her most serious work: rearranging her nest, testing the strength of cage bars, and solving puzzle feeders. By day, she was a sleepy lump in her hide. By night, she was a master of her domain. We would sometimes watch her with a red light (which mice can't see well). She was a study in focused, independent activity. The red light reveals nothing now but an empty, still landscape.
