Mittens' Gentle Grasp

Mittens was a hooded rat with a white body and a black head, but her standout feature was the perfect white 'gloves' on her front paws. She used those paws with delicate care. She would take a treat, hold it softly, and turn it around to eat it from the best angle. She would grasp a finger not to pull, but to gently investigate, her tiny claws like pinpricks. She was a thoughtful, calm rat who enjoyed puzzle toys but also loved simply sitting with her person. Her gentle touch was her signature. The mischief feels less polite, less carefully considerate, without her.
