❤️ Nature & Soul
Fluffy was exuberant, bold, and full of playful energy. He was more outgoing than many chinchillas, often coming to the front of his cage to greet people. He loved to be out for playtime, hopping and exploring. He showed affection by gently nibbling fingers and by performing his boisterous dust bath as if for an audience. His personality was like a cheerful, furry whirlwind—loud, lively, and impossible to ignore in the best way.
⭐ Special Memory
Fluffy had a hilarious habit of 'wall surfing' during playtime. In a safe, enclosed space, he would get a running start, leap at the wall, push off with his back feet, and change direction in mid-air. He'd do this back and forth along a wall, a blur of grey fur and energy. It was a natural chinchilla behavior, but he did it with such flair and repetition that it became his signature move. We called it 'doing the Fluffy.' It was the ultimate expression of his boundless, acrobatic joy.
🐾 Favorite Things
Dust bath containers, wall surfing, energetic playtime, outgoing greetings, cheerful chirping, acrobatic leaps

Celebrating a chinchilla whose dust baths were less ballet and more enthusiastic rodeo, a whirlwind of joyful, messy exuberance.

Fluffy lived up to his name, but his bath style did not. While Mochi was a ballerina, Fluffy was a wrestler entering the ring. At dust bath time, he would dive headfirst into the container, kick up an immediate cloud, and proceed to roll, flip, and buck with such vigor that dust would fly out of the bath house in great puffs. The process was loud, messy, and utterly joyous. He'd emerge looking like a tiny dust devil, then shake, sending a final cloud into the air, and hop away with a satisfied chirp. The cleanup was worth it for the sheer spectacle of his happiness.
