❤️ Nature & Soul
Aurora was bold, energetic, and sweet. She was a messy eater, often wearing her fruit paste like war paint. She was communicative with chirps and clicks. She showed trust by leaping onto us and by sleeping in odd places on our persons. Her personality was vibrant and engaging—a tiny, prehistoric-looking burst of color and energy.
⭐ Special Memory
The first time we saw Aurora 'fire up' completely was unforgettable. We had her out in the evening under a warm lamp. Over about ten minutes, we watched her colors intensify from dull to dazzling. It was like watching a sunrise happen on a lizard. We were mesmerized. We took dozens of pictures, but none truly captured the luminous quality of her transformed skin. It was a private light show she put on just for us, and we felt privileged to witness it.
🐾 Favorite Things
Neon oranges, fruit paste war paint, warm lamp basking, surprise frog-butt

Celebrating a crested gecko whose colors fired up to a breathtaking display of oranges and reds, a tiny, living aurora in a misty forest.

Aurora was a living light show. Normally a muted brown and orange, when 'fired up' under the right conditions (temperature, mood, time of day), she would transform. Her oranges would become neon, her patterns sharp and defined, her flanks glowing with fiery hues. She was a bold jumper and loved to be in the middle of activity. Her dropped tail made her look like a tiny, perpetually surprised frog. Watching her colors shift was a daily magic trick. The night light in her tank now just illuminates leaves, missing the vibrant, color-changing sprite who brought it to life.
