❤️ Nature & Soul
Talisman was affable, social, and had an almost cheerful demeanor. He seemed to enjoy human company, glass-surfing when he wanted interaction. He was smart and learned routines quickly. He showed affection by falling asleep on us and by his enthusiastic greeting head-bobs. His personality was simply pleasant—a low-drama, high-reward companion who made every day a little brighter just by being in it.
⭐ Special Memory
When I lost my job, I spent a lot of anxious days at home. Talisman became my unofficial therapy animal. I would take him out, and he would sit on my lap or chest as I applied for jobs or just worried. His warm, steady presence was a comfort. The day I got a new job offer, I was holding him. I told him, 'We did it, buddy.' He looked at me, did a slow blink, and then puffed his beard out once—it felt like a congratulations. Silly, but meaningful to me.
🐾 Favorite Things
Windowsill watching, head bobs, job search companion, smug smiles

1 day before

Remembering a bearded dragon whose arrival coincided with a turn in our fortunes, a scaly, smiling good luck charm who brightened every day.

Talisman lived up to his name. We got him during a difficult period, and his simple, sunny presence seemed to lift the household's spirits. His default expression was a slight, smug smile. He loved attention, bobbing his head in greeting. He had a particular fondness for sitting on the windowsill, watching the world outside. His beard was almost always a calm beige, only flaring during bath-time protests. He felt like a gift. The spot on the windowsill is just a sunny patch now, missing our personal, scaly sunbeam and good luck charm.
