❤️ Nature & Soul
Blaze was active, alert, and full of personality. He did push-ups when excited, especially when seeing his reflection. He was a picky eater, favoring certain flowers over others. He showed trust by taking food from our fingers, being careful not to nip. His personality was fiery and engaging—a constant, bright spark in the room whose very existence was a celebration of warmth and light.
⭐ Special Memory
Blaze went through a period of brumation (reptile hibernation). For six weeks, he barely moved, ate nothing, and slept in his burrow. We were worried, but trusted his instincts. Then, one spring morning, he emerged, skinny but bright-eyed. He went straight to his basking spot, turned a super-bright orange, and ate an enormous meal. Witnessing this natural cycle—the deep rest and triumphant return—in our own home was an incredible lesson in reptile biology and resilience. His re-awakening felt like a personal victory.
🐾 Favorite Things
Morning sunbeam rituals, flower treats, tail thumping, push-ups

1 day before

Remembering a uromastyx whose spines caught the light like a crown, whose daily basking was a worship of the light that gave him life.

Blaze was a creature of extreme heat and vibrant color. His orange and yellow spikes made him look like a miniature, benevolent dragon. His morning routine was sacred: emerge, stretch, find the perfect sunbeam under his lamp, and bake until he achieved optimal operating temperature. He was an enthusiastic digger, creating cool retreats for the night. His tail was a powerful weapon he used only once, thumping it against the glass when a neighbor's cat dared to stare. The lamp still turns on, but it heats an empty rock, missing its devoted, spiny sun-priest.
