❤️ Nature & Soul
Indigo was intelligent, bold, and had a great sense of timing for his dramatic displays. He was surprisingly cuddly for a skink, enjoying belly rubs and chin scratches. He recognized family members and had different reactions to each. He showed trust by falling asleep in our laps, completely relaxed. His personality was large and engaging—he wasn't a background pet; he was a central character who demanded interaction and rewarded it with his unique brand of lizard charm.
⭐ Special Memory
Indigo loved 'watching' football games with my partner. He would sit on the couch armrest, focused on the TV, especially during fast-moving plays. When there was a touchdown, my partner would cheer, and Indigo would often choose that moment to do a full, dramatic blue-tongue display and a little huff, as if celebrating along. It became their ritual. It was certainly coincidence, but it felt like shared enthusiasm. We have photos of him 'watching' the Super Bowl, looking remarkably engaged.
🐾 Favorite Things
Nose tapping for food, belly rubs, TV watching, dramatic gaping

Honoring a blue-tongued skink whose vibrant tongue was a surprise he delighted in showing, a sturdy, clever companion with a personality as big as his body.

Indigo was a show-off in the best way. He seemed to know his blue tongue was special, and he'd gape to show it at the slightest provocation—a new person, a strange sound, sometimes just for fun. He was incredibly food-motivated and learned to tap his dish with his nose when he was hungry. His waddling walk, with his belly barely clearing the ground, was comically endearing. His scales felt like smooth, cool beads. The room feels less colorful now, missing that sudden, brilliant flash of blue and his confident, waddling patrols.
