❤️ Nature & Soul
Rivulet was observant to an almost psychic degree. He watched everything—people, birds outside the window, insects on the wall. He was cautious but not fearful, assessing situations before acting. He was incredibly agile, leaping between branches with acrobatic precision. He showed affection through tolerance and recognition, bobbing his head in a specific greeting when we entered the room. He had a playful side, chasing feeder fish in his pool or batting at a laser pointer dot (under careful supervision). His personality was a blend of wild caution and gradually bestowed trust, making every interaction feel earned and special.
⭐ Special Memory
The most magical moment was seeing Rivulet shed while partially submerged. He would rub against underwater rocks, the skin peeling from his tail like a sheer green stocking floating in the current. He would then climb out and carefully peel the rest from his body, leaving a perfect, ghostly replica of himself draped over a branch. We saved one of these complete sheds, a fragile testament to his growth and beauty. The process was a mesmerizing glimpse into his ancient, cyclical biology.

No Reminder

A tribute to a Chinese water dragon whose elegance was liquid, whose still patience at the water's edge held the wisdom of deep pools and flowing streams.

Rivulet was aquatic grace. Perched on a branch overhanging his large water feature, he was the picture of poised stillness, only his eyes moving, tracking every ripple. Then, with explosive speed, he would dive, a green arrow disappearing beneath the surface, emerging moments later with a droplet clinging to his crest. He was shy at first, but with time, he would climb onto an offered arm, his long, whip-like tail providing perfect balance. His color changes were subtle—darker when cool or stressed, a brilliant emerald when content and warm. The sound of the filter in his tank was a constant in our home; now it just echoes, missing the graceful creature who was its reason for being.
