❤️ Nature & Soul
Kismet was the most patient being we have ever known. She tolerated being a 'teaching snake' for nervous friends, her calm demeanor often curing phobias. She was curious, fascinated by textures like knit sweaters or rough tree bark. She was predictable in her routines, which made her a deeply comforting presence. She showed trust by relaxing her muscles completely when held, becoming a heavy, warm loop of contentment. She had a distinct personality—sometimes she was in an exploring mood, other times she sought the darkness and privacy of her hide. She was a master of non-verbal communication, teaching us to read the language of muscle tension and tongue flicks.
⭐ Special Memory
Kismet was my steadfast companion through the writing of my thesis. For months, she resided in a draped coil around the base of my desk lamp, its warmth attracting her. She would remain there for hours as I typed, occasionally raising her head to gently touch my moving hand with her nose before settling again. She never demanded, never disrupted, only offered her silent, steady company. In the stressful, lonely hours of work, her presence was a living, breathing stress ball. I credit her calm energy with helping me maintain my own focus and peace during that intense period.

Honoring a ball python whose gentle constriction was not a bind, but the safest embrace, a living reminder that strength can be expressed with perfect calm.

Kismet was strength in its softest form. A pastel ball python with scales like brushed gold, she moved through the world with fluid, mindful purpose. Her defining trait was not aggression but profound calm. When nervous, she didn't strike; she balled up, hiding her head in her coils—a pacifist's defense. Once she knew you, she would explore with gentle, probing tongue flicks, then settle into a comfortable drape over shoulders or around wrists. Her hugs were firm but never tight, a steady, living weight that seemed to melt anxiety away. She had a scheduled curiosity, most active in the evenings, sliding through her branches with silent grace. The house feels less anchored now, missing her grounding presence, the quiet assurance of her coiled contentment.
