Caramel's Sweet Swirl

Caramel, a beautiful tan rabbit with lighter swirls, was sweetness and beauty combined. Her fur pattern had swirls of light and dark tan that looked like caramel swirling through cream. But her true sweetness was in her nature: gentle, affectionate, deeply peaceful. She had a particular way of requesting attention: she would hop slowly to your feet, rise up on your hind legs, and place your front paws gently on your ankle, looking up with soft eyes. Once picked up (which she allowed with patient grace), she would nestle into the crook of an arm, completely relaxed. Her favorite spot was on a tan rug where her swirls would create camouflage. Our home feels less sweet without her presence. We miss our living caramel, our reminder that sweetness can be both beautiful and gentle.
