📋 A Gentle Beginning
Celebrating a small rabbit with a huge personality, who proved that magnitude isn't about size but about spirit.

Peanut, a Netherland Dwarf who lived up to his breed's tiny stature, was proof that great things come in small packages. He weighed barely two pounds but had the confidence of a rabbit five times his size. He was curious, bold, surprisingly sassy. He had opinions about everything: which treats were best (blueberry), which sleeping spots were superior (under the bookshelf), which humans were acceptable (all, but on his terms). He would thump if displeased, circle if excited, and binky if especially happy. Watching this tiny creature move through our home with such big energy was endlessly entertaining. Our home feels emptier without his mighty presence. We miss our tiny giant, our reminder that spirit has no size.
❤️ Nature & Soul
Peanut was personality concentrated into a tiny body. He woke each day ready to take on the world, or at least the living room. He was intelligent and persistent, working on puzzles until he solved them, even if they were meant for larger animals. He was social, wanting to be involved in everything, from cooking to cleaning to home repairs (supervising from a safe distance). He had a sense of humor, often doing things that seemed deliberately funny, like trying to move objects much larger than himself. Despite his bold personality, he was gentle when it mattered, taking treats with delicate lips and enjoying petting when he could sit still long enough. His personality was like a perfect peanut: small, packed with flavor, surprising in its impact.
⭐ Special Memory
Peanut's mighty spirit was most entertaining during 'The Great Couch Conquest.' Our couch was relatively high off the ground—too high, we thought, for a tiny Netherland Dwarf to jump onto. Peanut disagreed. He spent days attempting the leap, falling short, trying again. We considered building him a ramp. Then one day, we found him proudly sitting on the couch cushion. He had figured out that by jumping first onto a lower footstool, then onto the couch, he could reach his goal. From then on, the couch was his domain. He would hop up, survey his kingdom, sometimes do a victory lap (a tiny binky on the cushions), then settle in for a nap. That determination—and problem-solving—from such a small creature was impressive and hilarious.
🐾 Favorite Things
Peanut loved running through tunnel systems made from PVC pipes sized for larger rabbits, proving his agility. He adored fresh blueberries (tiny treats for a tiny rabbit) and would hold them in his front paws like precious gems. His favorite thing was conquering obstacles meant for larger animals, then sitting proudly atop them as if to say 'Look what I did!';
