📋 A Gentle Beginning
A remembrance of a rabbit whose golden fur seemed to capture and reflect sunlight, whose cheerful nature brightened even the cloudiest days.
📝 Moments & Memories
Use this space to share your companion’s story in your own words. You may write about their personality, favorite moments, the bond you shared, or anything you feel captures who they were and what they meant to you. There is no right or wrong way to write this - take your time and speak from the heart.
Sunny, a golden-colored rabbit with a lighter belly, was like bottled sunshine. Her fur held shades of gold, amber, and cream that seemed to glow in certain lights. But her true brightness was in her spirit: cheerful, curious, warm. She had a particular bounce to her hop that made her seem perpetually happy. On gray winter days, we would say she was our personal sunbeam. Her favorite spot was in a sunbeam on the carpet, where she would stretch out, her golden fur seeming to absorb and amplify the light. Now, our home feels dimmer, missing that living light source. We miss our golden girl, our furry reminder that light can come in small, hopping packages.
❤️ Nature & Soul
Sunny was optimism with fur. She woke each day with what seemed like genuine enthusiasm for whatever it might bring. She was curious about everything, investigating new objects with her nose and whiskers twitching madly. She was social, wanting to be where the action was, but not demanding about it. She learned her name quickly and would come hopping when called, especially if accompanied by the crinkle of a treat bag. She had a playful side, enjoying games like pushing a ball or running through tunnels. Despite her bright energy, she was incredibly gentle, taking treats with delicate lips and enjoying petting that would make her close her eyes in bliss. Her personality was like sunshine: bright, warm, impossible to ignore.
⭐ Special Memory
Sunny's cheerful nature was most infectious during what we called her 'Afternoon Delight.' Every day around 3 PM, when the sun would hit a particular spot on the living room floor, Sunny would have a burst of energy. She would run to that spot, sometimes doing a 'binky' (joyful leap with a twist) as she entered the sunbeam. Then she would run laps around the perimeter of the sunbeam, leap over any object in her path, then flop dramatically in the center, panting happily. This daily ritual, timed with the sun's movement, became something we would schedule our afternoon breaks around. Watching her find such pure joy in simple sunlight was a lesson in celebrating small, daily gifts.
🐾 Favorite Things
Sunny loved playing with willow balls, tossing them in the air and chasing them. She adored carrot tops and would hold them in her front paws like little bouquets. Her favorite thing was having her golden fur gently brushed in the sunlight
