📋 A Gentle Beginning
Celebrating a rabbit whose energy was boundless, whose 'binkies' of joy turned our living room into a stage for spontaneous celebration.
📝 Moments & Memories
Use this space to share your companion’s story in your own words. You may write about their personality, favorite moments, the bond you shared, or anything you feel captures who they were and what they meant to you. There is no right or wrong way to write this - take your time and speak from the heart.
Dust Bunny earned his name not from lack of cleanliness (he was fastidious) but from his appearance—a fluffy gray Holland Lop who looked like he'd been assembled from dryer lint and happiness. His signature move was the 'binky'—a sudden, joyful leap into the air with a twist that expressed pure rabbit euphoria. He had specific triggers for these explosions of joy: the sound of the treat bag, the appearance of his favorite toy, or sometimes just because the afternoon light was particularly beautiful. He would race around the room, leaping over obstacles (and sometimes imaginary ones), then collapse in a happy, panting heap. Our home feels grounded, earthbound without his aerial acrobatics. We miss our living testament to the fact that joy can, and should, be expressed with your whole body.
❤️ Nature & Soul
Dust Bunny was exuberance wrapped in floppy-eared packaging. He woke each day with what seemed like genuine excitement for whatever adventures it might hold. He was curious about everything, investigating new objects with his nose and sometimes his teeth (much to our dismay). He was social, wanting to be in the middle of whatever was happening in the household. He learned his name quickly and would come hopping when called, especially if a treat was involved. Despite his high energy, he was incredibly gentle, taking treats with delicate lips and never biting. He had a sense of humor, often doing silly things like pushing a ball around the room or hiding in unlikely places. His personality was like sunshine—bright, warm, and impossible to ignore.
⭐ Special Memory
Dust Bunny's most hilarious habit was his 'Toy Tidy Time.' Every evening around 8 PM, he would begin collecting all his toys from around the room. He had a specific spot under the coffee table she considered 'toy headquarters.' She would hop around, pick up a toy in her mouth, carry it to the spot, drop it, then go back for another. If we moved a toy from the pile, she would notice and return it. This went on for about twenty minutes each night. The funniest part was her expression—she looked so serious and purposeful, as if this was her most important job. Watching this small creature create order in her world was both amusing and oddly inspiring.
🐾 Favorite Things
Dust Bunny loved running through cardboard tunnel systems, popping out the other end with ears flying. She adored banana slices and would do a full-circle spin before taking one gently from a hand. Her favorite thing was having the back of her neck scratched while she made soft, contented tooth-purring sounds, her floppy ears relaxing completely.
