❤️ Nature & Soul
Ripple was a wild neighbor, not a pet. He was tolerant of our presence as long as we didn't threaten his space. He ate insects that came to the pond. His personality was one of amphibian contentment—a creature perfectly suited to his small, watery world, asking only for clean water and insects, providing music in return.
⭐ Special Memory
The most serene memory is of a hot summer afternoon. I was reading near the pond. Ripple was on his lily pad, unmoving. A dragonfly landed on his head. He didn't flinch. They stayed like that for minutes—frog and insect in a temporary, silent truce. It was a perfect, peaceful moment in the microcosm of the pond.
🐾 Favorite Things
Lily pad basking, evening calls, insect catching

Remembering a rescued green frog whose deep jug-o-rum call and placid existence in our garden pond marked the seasons.
Ripple appeared one spring in our small garden pond, a green frog who took up residence. He wasn't 'rescued' so much as he adopted us. He'd bask on the lily pad, slipping into the water with a soft *plunk* if we came too close. His call on summer nights was a deep, banjo-like *gung-gung-gung* that became the soundtrack of the season. The lily pad floats unused now, missing the bulge of his eyes above the waterline, the smooth arc of his jump, and the familiar, comforting rumble of his evening song.
