❤️ Nature & Soul
Cinder was fierce, intelligent, and possessed a relentless drive to investigate and destroy. He was mostly solitary, as wolverines are. He had a strong odor (musky) used for marking. His personality was one of raw, northern wilderness—a creature of legend, feared and respected, living a life where his formidable nature could be expressed safely.
⭐ Special Memory
The most powerful memory is watching him on a meat-filled 'piñata' we hung—a tough canvas bag. He climbed the tree it was tied to, hung upside down, and ripped it apart with his teeth and claws, dropping down with the prize. The sheer strength and determination were breathtaking. He was a force of nature contained, but not diminished.
🐾 Favorite Things
Frozen meat, destroying logs, snow piles
🌈 Pet Remembrance Anniversary Reminders

1 day before

Remembering a rescued wolverine whose legendary strength and solitary nature made him a mythical creature made real.

Cinder was an orphaned wolverine kit found after his mother was killed by a trapper (legally, but the kit was left). He was raised but could not be released due to habituation. We built him a massive, rugged enclosure with cliffs, snow piles in winter, and logs to demolish. He was incredibly powerful for his size, capable of tearing apart frozen meat and moving logs twice his weight. The enclosure feels tame now, missing the low growls, the powerful, loping run, and the evidence of his destructive curiosity—shattered logs, dug-up stumps.
