Frost's Tundra Song
Life Details
Remembering a rescued arctic fox whose seasonal coat change and playful nature showcased the beauty of high-latitude adaptation.
Frost was surrendered from a failed fur farm situation, an arctic fox with a stunning white winter coat that melted to a gray-brown 'blue' phase in summer. We gave him a large, cool enclosure with digging areas and a den box. He was playful, often engaging in mock hunts with his toys and performing joyful leaps. His winter transformation was magical—from a scruffy gray animal to a pure white spirit of snow. The enclosure is missing the flash of white against winter snow, his curious tilting head, and the playful pounces on imaginary prey.
