❤️ Nature & Soul
Frost was regal, observant, and a creature of cold climates. He preferred cooler temperatures and would pant if too warm. He was tolerant of his handlers but remained wild at heart. His personality was one of Arctic majesty—a predator of open spaces, now living in a limited but cared-for space, teaching people about a world of ice and snow.
⭐ Special Memory
The most breathtaking moment was during a winter program. Light snow fell through the open-top of his enclosure. Frost sat on his perch, white on white, snow collecting on his head and back without melting. He looked like a spirit of winter itself, a perfect fusion of animal and environment. The audience was utterly silent, captivated by the living poetry of the moment.
🐾 Favorite Things
High perches, cold weather, silent observation

Remembering a rescued snowy owl whose Arctic beauty and silent flight brought a piece of the tundra to our education program.

Frost was found injured far south of his normal range, a stunning male snowy owl with a wing fracture that healed but left him unable to migrate or hunt effectively. He became an education bird. In his large flight mew, he'd sit for hours on his highest perch, turning his head nearly all the way around to watch visitors. His flight, when he chose to, was utterly silent. The mew is just a cage now, missing the intense yellow stare from his white face, the soft puff of his feathers in the cold, and the awe he inspired in everyone who saw him.
