❤️ Nature & Soul
Zephyr was observant, sure-footed, and carried himself with a natural nobility. He was social with the other sanctuary sheep but often stood apart. He was a creature of high places, always seeking the best vantage point. His personality was one of wild majesty—an animal evolved for vertical landscapes, finding a semblance of home on our constructed rocks.
⭐ Special Memory
The most majestic memory is of his first set of horns beginning to curl. He'd practice 'fighting' by gently butting heads with a tolerant old goat. As his horns grew, he'd polish them on rocks, a behavior as instinctive as breathing. Watching him develop into the magnificent animal he was meant to be was a privilege.
🐾 Favorite Things
High vantage points, horn polishing rocks, mountain grasses
🌈 Pet Remembrance Anniversary Reminders
📅 Should we gently remind you by email before your pet’s passing anniversary? We know these dates can be tender. If you wish, we can send you a gentle email reminder before your pet’s passing anniversary.

A tribute to a rescued bighorn sheep lamb whose rocky perch and watchful eyes brought the high country to our sanctuary.

Zephyr was found alone and weak in a lowland area, a bighorn lamb separated from his herd. We raised him with other hoofstock, but he always had a distant look, as if remembering cliffs. We built a steep, rocky area in his enclosure. He'd stand on the highest point, his curled horns emerging as he grew, surveying his domain like a king. The rocky outcrop is just stone now, missing the sure-footed click of his hooves on rock, the sound of his deep, nasal bleat, and his majestic silhouette against the sky at sunset.
