❤️ Nature & Soul
Ripple was industrious, family-oriented, and a creature of profound instinct. Even without other beavers, he felt compelled to move sticks and mud, building and reinforcing his lodge. He was mostly nocturnal. His personality was one of purposeful creation—an animal driven to modify its environment, not just live in it.
⭐ Special Memory
The most impressive memory is watching him 'repair' his lodge after a heavy rain washed part of it away. He worked for hours, dragging branches, patting mud into place with his hands and tail. It wasn't taught; it was innate. Witnessing that genetic programming in action—the urge to build and maintain—was a humbling look at nature's engineers.
🐾 Favorite Things
Fresh aspen branches, building his lodge, swimming patrols

Honoring a rescued beaver whose engineering instincts and peaceful pond life demonstrated nature's brilliant architects.
Ripple was an orphaned kit found near a dam destroyed by construction. We built him a large pond with a lodge and plenty of fresh branches. He'd swim with just his nose and eyes above water, then slap his tail in alarm if startled. At night, we'd hear the steady *gnaw-gnaw-gnaw* as he worked on aspen logs. The pond is silent now, missing the V-shaped wake of his swimming, the sound of his industrious chewing, and the sight of him sitting upright on the bank, grooming his dense fur with split-nail fingers.
