❤️ Nature & Soul
Driftwood was a survivor, not a pet. He tolerated our presence as providers of food and clean water. He was ambush predator perfected—patient, powerful, and efficient. His personality was pure, ancient reptilian instinct. He was a living fossil, a reminder of a time before mammals dominated, carrying his armored history in every slow movement.
⭐ Special Memory
The most awe-inspiring memory was during a health check. We had to carefully handle him (using proper techniques to avoid his powerful neck and jaws). Seeing his sheer size and strength up close, the thickness of his claws, the serrated edge of his tail—it was like handling a dinosaur. It inspired a deep respect for a creature that had survived, largely unchanged, for over 90 million years.
🐾 Favorite Things
Sun-warmed rocks, live fish, floating motionless in the pond
🌈 Pet Remembrance Anniversary Reminders
📅 Should we gently remind you by email before your pet’s passing anniversary? We know these dates can be tender. If you wish, we can send you a gentle email reminder before your pet’s passing anniversary.

Honoring a rescued snapping turtle whose primordial appearance and survivor's spirit represented millions of years of evolution.

Driftwood was pulled from a drained pond, a common snapping turtle so large and algae-covered he looked like a piece of moving landscape. His shell was scarred, his beak powerful. We gave him a large pond in a secure enclosure. He'd spend hours motionless underwater, only his nostrils and eyes breaking the surface. The pond feels empty now, missing the sudden eruption of his bulk when he lunged for fish, the slow movement of his algae-furred shell through the water, and the ancient, patient gaze from his wrinkled face.
