Onyx's Midnight Sheen

Onyx was elegance in monochrome. A panther chameleon from a locale that produced mostly dark, blue-black males, he was a striking contrast to the typical rainbow varieties. Against the green plants of his enclosure, he looked like a carved obsidian statue that occasionally moved. His color shifts were subtle—hints of blue or green in certain lights, darker when cool or stressed. The screen cage is missing the slow drip of water he'd drink, the precise movement of his turreted eyes, and the dramatic contrast of his dark form against bright leaves.
