Wisp's Ethereal Presence

Wisp was an ambassador from the leaf litter. A Madagascar hissing cockroach, large and mahogany-colored, he moved with slow, deliberate dignity. His most famous trait was his ability to force air through spiracles to create a loud hiss when disturbed—a sound more startling than threatening. Mostly, he was content to explore hands and arms with his delicate antennae, tasting the world. The terrarium is missing the soft rustle of his movement through coconut fiber, the occasional defensive hiss, and the surprising warmth of his exoskeleton when held.
