❤️ Nature & Soul
Mochi was empathetic, peaceful, and deeply affectionate. He sought human contact, climbing into offered hands. He was less interested in puzzles and more in companionship. He had a healing presence; during stressful exam periods, just holding his warm, soft body was therapeutic. His personality was pure, gentle love in rodent form. He redefined what a rat could be: not a pest, but a profound little friend.
⭐ Special Memory
The most touching memory is of a time I was sick in bed with a bad cold. I had Mochi's cage nearby. He kept looking at me, and when I let him out, he didn't run to play. Instead, he climbed onto the bed, crawled under the blanket near my shoulder, curled up, and fell asleep, his tiny warmth and steady breathing a comfort. It felt intentional, like he knew I needed quiet company.
🐾 Favorite Things
Hoodie pockets, cage mate grooming, quiet corners for eating, cuddle sessions, gentle handling

A tribute to a dumbo rat whose oversized ears and exceptionally gentle nature made him the most huggable of rodents.
Mochi was a living stuffed animal. A dumbo rat (named for his large, low-set ears), his fur was plush and gray, his eyes dark and gentle. He was the pacifist of his mischief, often breaking up squabbles by inserting himself between fighters. He loved cuddles and would fall asleep in hoodie pockets. The rat cage misses his calm presence, the way he'd gently groom his cage mates' faces, and his habit of taking treats to a corner to eat them slowly, without the typical rat scramble.
