❤️ Nature & Soul
Patches was inquisitive, stubborn, and delightfully social. She followed her humans like a fuzzy shadow, hoping for snacks or scratches. She had a distinct hierarchy of favorite foods: raspberry leaves above all, then dandelions, then everything else. She was clever, learning to open the gate latch with her lips. Her personality was pure, concentrated goat—curious, food-obsessed, and capable of profound affection mixed with hilarious mischief.
⭐ Special Memory
The memory that makes everyone smile is of Patches 'helping' with yoga in the yard. During downward dog, she'd walk underneath, then look up curiously. During child's pose, she'd gently nibble on ponytails. She seemed to think it was a new game invented for her amusement. The photo of her standing on a yoga mat, looking immensely pleased with herself, captures her spirit perfectly: an innocent interrupter, bringing laughter to serious moments.
🐾 Favorite Things
Raspberry leaves, dandelions, tree leaves, patio stumps, gate latches

Honoring a pygmy goat whose miniature stature and mischievous antics made her the beloved mascot of our backyard homestead.

Patches was a lawnmower with personality. A Nigerian Dwarf goat with a black-and-white patched coat and comically upright ears, she considered the entire yard her personal buffet and playground. She'd stand on her hind legs to reach low-hanging tree leaves, 'help' with gardening by taste-testing flowers, and greet visitors with a cheerful *maa-aaa* that sounded like a question. The backyard is too still now, missing the *clip-clop* of her tiny hooves on the patio, the head-butting games with the dog, and the sight of her perched on her favorite stump, surveying her kingdom.
