❤️ Nature & Soul
Spike was regal, observant, and surprisingly communicative. He'd 'wave' one front arm in a slow circle when feeling submissive or content. He enjoyed being hand-fed and would gently take greens from fingers. He was patient during handling, often falling asleep on warm laps. His personality was solar-powered—calm, warm, and steady. He taught us that stillness could be just as expressive as activity.
⭐ Special Memory
The most endearing memory is of Spike's first encounter with snow. I held him near a frosty windowpane. He pressed his nose against the glass, his beard puffed slightly in curiosity, then gave a single, slow arm-wave as if greeting this strange, cold phenomenon from his warm world. He then turned and climbed up to my shoulder, his body temperature a comforting heat against my neck, as if to say he preferred our shared tropical microclimate. It was a perfect moment of interspecies wonder.
🐾 Favorite Things
Blueberries, basking under UVB lamp, warm laps, salad greens, slate surfaces

Celebrating a bearded dragon whose spiky exterior hid a sun-worshipping, salad-loving gentle soul who ruled his terrarium kingdom.

Spike was a miniature dragon of the best kind. A citrus-colored bearded dragon, he'd start each day with a precise ritual: several minutes of basking under his UVB lamp until he reached optimal operating temperature, followed by a dignified stroll to his salad bowl. His 'beard' would darken dramatically at the sight of blueberries—his ultimate treat. The quiet corner of the living room is too dim now, missing the soft scratching sound of his claws on slate, the slow blink of his contented eyes, and the way he'd pancake his body flat against warm rocks. The heat lamp glows over an empty basking spot.
