Nala came to us from the woods, skittish and untrusting, her past a mystery written in flinches. It took months of quiet patience before she would take a treat from our hand. But the dog that emerged was worth the wait-a creature of fierce loyalty and surprising playfulness, a wild heart that chose to trust us. She taught us about patience, about earning love, and about the incredible resilience of spirit. This tribute is for her courageous journey from fear to family.
❤️ Nature & Soul
Nala was a complex soul-independent, watchful, and deeply intelligent. She was not overtly cuddly but showed affection through quiet proximity and intense, golden-eyed gazes. She was playful on her own terms, often initiating games with a playful bow and a mischievous glint. Her trust, once given, was absolute and fierce. She was a survivor who learned to thrive in the safety of love.
⭐ Special Memory
The breakthrough moment with Nala came during a thunderstorm. Terrified, she did not hide. For the first time, she crawled onto the couch and buried her head in my lap, shaking. It was the moment she chose to seek comfort from us instead of enduring fear alone. We sat there for an hour, and from that night on, she was truly ours.
🐾 Favorite Things
Nala loved running in wide, joyful circles in open, snow-covered fields, her inner wolf shining through. She enjoyed chewing on massive, frozen beef bones for hours. Her favorite thing was sleeping in the 'den' she made under the staircase, surrounded by our old shirts that smelled like her family.
