📋 A Gentle Beginning
Kona woke up early just to watch the birds outside the window, tail flicking eagerly as if cheering them on.

Kona perched on the windowsill every morning, studying each flutter of wings with total concentration. She chirped softly, trying to mimic their calls. After her bird-watching sessions, she curled beside us as if satisfied with her morning routine. The sight of birds still brings her memory back in vivid detail.
❤️ Nature & Soul
Kona was a magnificent brown tabby with tufted ears, a luxurious ruff, and the substantial build of his Maine Coon heritage. He was a gentle giant with a surprisingly soft chirp of a meow. His mornings were sacred: up at dawn, to the window, where he would hold court for hours, watching the avian world come alive. He wasn't a hunter at heart—he was a scholar of birds. He would watch their social interactions, their feeding habits, their flights with the focus of an ornithologist. He was patient with our other pets and had a particular soft spot for the family dog, often grooming the dog's ears with careful licks. His presence was steady, reliable, and deeply comforting—the anchor of our household.
⭐ Special Memory
Kona developed a special relationship with a family of chickadees that nested in our yard. Every spring when they returned, he would greet them with particular excitement. One morning, we witnessed something remarkable: a chickadee landed on the windowsill right in front of Kona. Instead of pouncing or showing aggression, Kona slowly blinked at the bird. The chickadee chirped, hopped closer, then flew away. This happened several times that spring. It was as if they had developed a peaceful understanding across the glass barrier. We have photos of these moments that capture an incredible inter-species détente.
🐾 Favorite Things
Kona loved playing with feather toys but would carry them gently in his mouth rather than tearing them apart. He was fascinated by the sound of rain on the roof and would sit under skylights during storms. His favorite thing was being brushed with a wide-toothed comb while he bird-watched, purring softly as he followed the flight patterns outside.
