Raven had bright, expressive eyes that widened at every new shape. She pounced with surprising accuracy, then trotted proudly as if claiming victory. She curled beside us afterward, tired but happy, resting her head on our leg. Her playful energy and affectionate rest times created a beautiful balance that made every day feel full.
❤️ Nature & Soul
Raven was a striking ebony beauty with enormous ears, almond-shaped green eyes, and a sleek, muscular body that seemed designed for movement. She was the most energetic cat we've ever known—a perpetual motion machine of curiosity and play. She was incredibly vocal, with a loud, demanding voice she used to comment on everything from empty food bowls to interesting cloud formations outside. Despite her high energy, she was also deeply affectionate, demanding lap time after her play sessions as if recharging through human contact. She was intelligent and could learn tricks like 'sit,' 'high five,' and even 'spin.' Her dramatic personality filled our apartment with constant entertainment.
⭐ Special Memory
Raven's most hilarious habit was her 'Shadow Boxing' sessions. Whenever a particular angle of sunlight created sharp shadows in the late afternoon, she would go into hunting mode. She would stalk her own shadow, pounce on it, look confused when it moved with her, then try different tactics: sneaking up on it, leaping over it, even trying to bite it. The funniest part was when she would finally 'catch' it by sitting directly on top of it, looking up at us with an expression of pure triumph, as if she had solved a great mystery. We have countless videos of these sessions that still make us laugh.
🐾 Favorite Things
Raven was obsessed with wand toys with long strings and feathers and could jump astonishingly high to catch them. She loved the sound of crinkling cellophane and would come running to 'help' unwrap any package. Her favorite thing was sleeping in a tight ball on our pillow, her sleek black fur contrasting with the white pillowcase, one paw often resting on our cheek.
