📋 A Gentle Beginning
A tribute to a Lutino Lovebird whose beautiful yellow color and fierce, loving bond with her mate was a lesson in avian devotion.
📝 Moments & Memories
Use this space to share your companion’s story in your own words. You may write about their personality, favorite moments, the bond you shared, or anything you feel captures who they were and what they meant to you. There is no right or wrong way to write this - take your time and speak from the heart.
Ember (our lovebird) was a tiny sun. A lutino lovebird, she was a beautiful yellow with a peach face. She was paired with a male, and their bond was intense. They were almost always touching, preening, or feeding each other. Her personality was bright and sassy, but her love for her mate was her defining feature. Witnessing such absolute, small-scale devotion was a beautiful part of our daily life.
❤️ Nature & Soul
Ember was bright, energetic, and fiercely bonded to her mate. She was the more dominant of the pair, often initiating play and feeding her mate. She was bold and curious about her surroundings. With humans, she was tolerantly independent, but her focus was always on her mate. Her personality was a mix of sweetness (toward her mate) and feistiness (toward the world).
⭐ Special Memory
Every morning, without fail, Ember would perform a 'greeting ceremony' with her mate. They would perch face-to-face, touch beaks gently, and then take turns regurgitating food for each other for a minute. After this ritual, they would go about their day. It was a daily renewal of their bond, a touching and consistent display of love and partnership.
🐾 Favorite Things
Ember loved building elaborate nests with any material provided, weaving them skillfully. She enjoyed bathing in a shallow dish with her mate. Her favorite thing was a piece of corn on the cob; she and her mate would cling to it together, eating in happy unison.
