📋 A Gentle Beginning
A tribute to a White Canary whose pure white feathers and clear, high-pitched song seemed to hold the cleanliness of mountain air.

Alpine was our song of purity. A white canary, he was the color of snow. His song was higher-pitched and very clear, like icicles chiming. He was a vigorous singer, filling the room with his crystalline notes. His white color made him look like a little spirit of music. His song and color together created a feeling of clean, bright freshness in our home.
❤️ Nature & Soul
Alpine was active, vocal, and bright. He was a dedicated singer, performing long, complex songs throughout the day. He was energetic in his cage, hopping between perches. He was not a bird for handling but seemed to enjoy being the center of auditory attention. His personality was expressed almost entirely through his song, which was consistent and beautiful.
⭐ Special Memory
After a deep cleaning of his cage where everything was washed and fresh white sand was put down, Alpine seemed especially inspired. He sang for nearly two hours straight, his most elaborate and varied performance ever. It was as if the pristine environment sparked a creative frenzy. The combination of his white feathers against the clean cage and his glorious song was a perfect moment of avian aesthetics.
🐾 Favorite Things
Alpine loved bathing in his water dish immediately after we refilled it with fresh water. He enjoyed pecking at a mineral block. His favorite thing was a fresh leaf of romaine lettuce; he would shred it while singing.
