📋 A Gentle Beginning
A tribute to a White-Faced Cockatiel whose elegant, pearl-gray face and gentle, dignified nature was calming and beautiful.
📝 Moments & Memories
Use this space to share your companion’s story in your own words. You may write about their personality, favorite moments, the bond you shared, or anything you feel captures who they were and what they meant to you. There is no right or wrong way to write this - take your time and speak from the heart.
Opal was our gray lady. A white-faced cockatiel, she lacked the orange cheek patches, giving her a sophisticated, pearl-gray look. Her personality matched her appearance: gentle, dignified, and sweet. She was not as demanding of attention as some cockatiels, but her quiet love was deep. She enjoyed sitting on a knee, being softly spoken to, and gentle head scratches. Her elegance and calm were a steadying influence.
❤️ Nature & Soul
Opal was gentle, calm, and dignified. He was not a clown or a loud whistler. She expressed contentment with soft chirps and a gentle bobbing of her head. She was patient and easy to handle. She formed a deep bond but showed it in quiet ways—choosing to be near you, accepting scratches, and watching you with intelligent, dark eyes. She had a quiet wisdom about her.
⭐ Special Memory
Opal was the peacemaker in our multi-bird household. If two other birds were squabbling, she would often fly over and land between them, not making a sound, just looking at each in turn. Her calm presence usually defused the tension immediately. It was as if she possessed an innate authority that the other birds respected.
🐾 Favorite Things
Opal loved preening a specific, soft fleece blanket. She enjoyed sitting in the steam from a humidifier (from a safe distance). Her favorite thing was a piece of whole wheat pasta; she would hold it in one foot and nibble it slowly.
