📋 A Gentle Beginning
A tribute to a Gray Cockatiel whose soft, smoky feathers and gentle personality was a calming, constant presence.

Fog was our steady, gray companion. A normal gray cockatiel, he wasn't flashy, but he was reliable, sweet, and deeply bonded. He loved nothing more than to be on a shoulder, whistling softly or napping. He was our emotional support bird without trying to be—his simple, loving presence was a balm. His passing from old age was peaceful, but left a gray, quiet space where his gentle soul used to be.
❤️ Nature & Soul
Fog was sweet, gentle, and deeply affectionate. He was not particularly playful or mischievous, but he was a 'heart bird.' He craved physical closeness and would happily sit on a shoulder for hours. He was easy-going and got along with everyone. He was a creature of simple pleasures: head scratches, millet, and being near his people. His loyalty and steady love were his defining traits.
⭐ Special Memory
During a period of intense grief after a family loss, I would sit for hours in silence. Fog, who was usually quiet when on my shoulder, would periodically gently nuzzle his head against my cheek or preen a strand of my hair, all without a sound. He didn't try to cheer me up with whistles; he just offered his silent, physical presence as comfort. It was the purest, most empathetic companionship.
🐾 Favorite Things
Fog loved sitting on the warm top of a computer monitor. He enjoyed chewing on dry pasta shapes. His favorite thing was having his head and neck scratched; he would close his eyes and lean into the hand, making the softest purring sounds.
