📋 A Gentle Beginning
A tribute to an Indian Ringneck Parakeet whose metallic green feathers, sharp intelligence, and clear speech made him a captivating companion.
📝 Moments & Memories
Use this space to share your companion’s story in your own words.
You may write about their personality, favorite moments, the bond you shared, or anything you feel captures who they were and what they meant to you. There is no right or wrong way to write this - take your time and speak from the heart.
Tinker was sleek, smart, and a little bit sassy. An Indian Ringneck, his green feathers had an almost metallic sheen. He was an excellent talker with a huge vocabulary, which he used with surprising context. He was independent, not a cuddler, but formed a strong intellectual bond. He loved showing off his vocabulary and solving puzzles. His clear, whistled tunes and clever comments were a constant source of amusement and admiration. His absence leaves the house feeling less clever, less chatty.
❤️ Nature & Soul
Tinker was intelligent, independent, and vocal. He was not particularly affectionate in a physical sense but showed his bond by wanting to be involved, talking to his people, and performing for them. He could be aloof one minute and demanding of attention the next. He was a quick learner and enjoyed the mental challenge of new words and tricks. He had a proud, almost regal bearing and could be stubborn if he didn't want to do something.
⭐ Special Memory
Tinker had a habit of narrating his own actions. He'd say 'Step up!' when he wanted to come out, 'Going poop!' before he did (and he was usually accurate), and 'Yummy!' when eating a favorite food. It was like living with a tiny, feathery commentator, and it provided endless entertainment and insight into his mind.
🐾 Favorite Things
Tinker loved playing with chains and links, manipulating them with his beak. He enjoyed looking out the window and commenting on what he saw ('Car! Bird! Mailman!'). His favorite treat was a piece of almond; he would hold it and nibble it with great focus.
