Sierra was a clown in a feathery suit. A Green-Cheeked Conure with a maroon tail and bright green body, she was endlessly entertaining. She loved to hang upside-down, play peek-a-boo, and make silly noises. But she was also a cuddle-bug of the highest order, tucking her head under a chin for naps. Her playful shrieks and soft purring sounds were the soundtrack of our daily life. Her sudden illness took her too quickly, leaving a silence filled with the echoes of her laughter. This memorial is for our emerald jester, whose love was as vibrant and playful as she was.
❤️ Nature & Soul
Sierra was playful, affectionate, and full of personality. She was bold and fearless, exploring everything. She had a great sense of humor and seemed to do things specifically to make us laugh. She was very cuddly and loved physical contact, often falling asleep in a hoodie pocket or against a neck. She could be mischievous, stealing earrings or keys. She bonded strongly with the whole family but had a special person. Her emotions were big and easy to read.
⭐ Special Memory
Sierra invented a game called 'The Beak Boop.' She would sit on a knee, make eye contact, then very gently lean forward and tap her beak against a nose or finger. We were supposed to say 'Boop!' Then she'd wait for us to gently 'boop' her beak back. She would play this for dozens of rounds, getting visibly happier with each exchange. It was a silly, simple game that perfectly captured her playful and interactive spirit.
🐾 Favorite Things
Sierra loved swinging on a rope perch so hard she'd almost flip over. She was obsessed with untying knots in string. Her favorite thing was popcorn; she would hold a piece in one foot and nibble it kernel by kernel, making happy crunching sounds.
