Dapple was secretive, nocturnal, and beautifully patterned. He'd make croaking sounds when handled (we rarely did). He had a favorite cave he rarely left during day. His personality was one of hidden beauty—a creature that lived a parallel life in darkness, revealing his perfection only to those willing to observe at night.
⭐ Special Memory
The most special memory is night watching with red light. We'd sit by the tank with only red light on (fish can't see red well), and watch Dapple emerge. He'd patrol the tank, his perfect spots visible in the dim light, living his complete fish life while the world slept.

Remembering a spotted Raphael catfish whose hidden life and unique spots made him our aquarium's secret treasure.
Dapple was a spotted Raphael catfish, a nocturnal catfish covered in perfect black spots. He'd hide all day in his favorite cave, emerging only at night. We'd use red light to watch him without disturbing. The tank has lost its secret treasure now, missing his nocturnal appearances, the perfect spot pattern, and the private world he represented.
