Zigzag was active, playful, and visually striking. He'd investigate everything with curiosity. He was social with other loaches. His personality was one of bold pattern in motion—a creature whose very appearance seemed designed for visual impact, especially when swimming.

The most mesmerizing memory is watching him swim rapidly back and forth along the front glass. His stripes would create an almost hypnotic pattern, like a moving optical illusion. Guests would often comment on this effect, making Zigzag our unofficial aquarium ambassador.

Celebrating a zebra loach whose bold stripes and playful nature made him our aquarium's living barber pole.

Zigzag was a zebra loach with perfect black and white stripes running the length of his body. He'd dart around the tank, his stripes creating a mesmerizing visual effect as he moved. He had a favorite cave he'd defend playfully. The tank has lost its moving pattern now, missing his bold stripes in motion, the playful territorial displays, and the visual interest he added.
