❤️ Nature & Soul
Scoop was industrious, focused, and a natural engineer. He'd reshape his territory daily, creating pits and mounds. He was peaceful for a cichlid. His personality was one of dynamic creation—a creature that didn't just live in its environment but actively and constantly reshaped it through feeding behavior.
⭐ Special Memory
The most fascinating memory is coming home to find completely new sand landscapes. Overnight or while we were at work, Scoop would have transformed flat sand into intricate dune fields, crater patterns, or river-like channels. Each day was a new sand sculpture to discover.
🐾 Favorite Things
Sand substrate, sinking pellets, territory shaping

Remembering a geophagus cichlid whose sand-sifting habits created ever-changing landscapes in our aquarium bottom.
Scoop was a geophagus (earth-eater) cichlid who spent his days taking mouthfuls of sand, filtering food through his gills, and spitting it out. This constant activity created beautiful patterns and dunes in our sand substrate. The tank bottom is static now, missing his living landscape architecture, the fascinating feeding behavior, and the dynamic terrain he created daily.
