❤️ Nature & Soul
Dart was surface-oriented, alert, and built for jumping. He'd watch activity above the tank with interest. He was social with other hatchets, schooling just below the surface. His personality was one of boundary-crossing—a fish that lived at the water's edge, literally and figuratively, reminding us of the connection between elements.
⭐ Special Memory
The most dramatic memory is the one time our lid wasn't perfectly secured. Dart jumped out, and we found him on the floor. He was still alive! We quickly returned him to water, and he recovered completely. This near-death experience made us appreciate his unique adaptations and our responsibility to protect them.
🐾 Favorite Things
Floating foods, surface plants, secure lid
🌈 Pet Remembrance Anniversary Reminders
📅 Should we gently remind you by email before your pet’s passing anniversary? We know these dates can be tender. If you wish, we can send you a gentle email reminder before your pet’s passing anniversary.

Remembering a hatchetfish whose silver underside and surface-skimming habits connected our aquarium to the air above.

Dart was a marble hatchetfish, with a body shaped like an axe head and incredible jumping ability. He'd swim just beneath the surface, his silver underside reflecting the room. We had a tight lid because hatchets are famous jumpers. The surface zone feels empty now, missing his silver flashes just below the waterline, the unique shape of his body, and the connection he created between aquatic and aerial worlds.
