Ripple was a natural leader in a collective organism. The school moved with what seemed like single intelligence, each fish responding to subtle cues. They preferred densely planted areas but would explore open spaces together. Their personality was one of perfect coordination—individuals sacrificing autonomy for the safety and beauty of group movement.

The most beautiful memory is watching them at feeding time. We'd drop food, and the entire school would pivot as one toward it, then break formation just enough to eat before reforming. This balance between individual need and group cohesion was nature's perfect design in action.

Ripple led our school of harlequin rasboras, small fish with striking black triangle patches on copper bodies. They'd weave through dense plants in perfect unison, their coordinated turns making them look like a single organism flowing through greenery. The planted tank has lost its dancers now, missing their elegant plant ballet, the flash of copper among green leaves, and the peaceful harmony of their synchronized swimming.
